Star musician Joseph Mayanja alias Dr. Jose Chameleone could be arrested if he doesn’t comply with Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) requirements over his car.

URA has also directed investigations into the singer’s clearing agent and he coukd face jail time over fraud.
According to a source, the agent is suspected of faking URA documents and stamps to illegally clear Chameleone’s Toyota V8 Landcruiser.
A video of Sam Muwereke a URA enforcement officer trying to demand papers belonging to Chameleon’s V8 went viral last evening.

According to news website Big Bang, the enforcement team led by Ivan Kakaire- the URA enforcement manager- is furious that Chameleone was not only ignorant of the

URA operations but also arrogant to one of its top officers.

Now the singer has two days to provide legitimate car clearance papers or face arrest and the car impounded.

URA was tipped off in 2018 when Chameleone brought in the V8 but URA got information that this is the second car the celebrated musician brought in and looks similar to the previous one thats still a V8.

This is not the first time Chameleon has had a run in with URA. In 2014,URA impounded Chameleon’s escalade moments before his BADILISHA show at Kyadondo Cricket Oval.
URA said that Chameleon had accumulated 42m in income and Value Added taxes from his previous shows and despite several reminders since November 2013, the singer had failed to turn up.
