Museveni set to create new ministry for Ragga Dee

By Assumpta Namanda

Musician Daniel Kazibwe alias Ragga Dee could soon become a Cabinet minister.
Well, this is if we are to go by word in corridors of power (State House).

According to info on our desk, Ragga Dee could be appointed to head the culture industry under a new Ministry of Arts and Culture.
Previously, culture and the arts have been under
The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD), with the ministry mandated to empower citizens to maximize their individual and collective potential by developing skills and cultural enrichment.

But for the past one or two years, government top players like Gen. Salim Saleh and the president himself, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni have picked immense interest in the arts and culture.
As the head of the Uganda Cultural Forum, Ragga Dee has met with top government officials countless times in the past year.

He’s impressed.

And now, he’s being considered for a cabinet post for the new Arts and Culture ministry that Mr. Museveni will create.
However, he is not the only person touted to take up the new role.
Close sources tell us Gen. Elly Kayanja, Hon. Nassur Tiperu, Sylvia Damali Owori and former state minister Hon. Peace Mutuuzo are all in consideration.

However while Museveni as the president will appoint one of the said people, it’s Gen. Saleh who will second a name. And Ragga Dee is said to be his favorite.
