A Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) patrol truck has today Thursday morning rammed into a Uganda Railways train in Kireka with two soldiers reportedly killed.
The UPDF truck is said to have been escaping from a scene of accident having knocked a boda boda cyclist.
Deo Kyomya, the commercial manager of Uganda Railways Corporation, confirmed the incident, saying their locomotive had been knocked by a vehicle in Kireka, Kira Municipality in Wakiso district.
“A team from the Uganda Railways has dashed to the seen to get more details,” Kyomya said, adding that no fatalities had been registered so far.
Uganda Railways Corporation recently resumed passenger railways services between Namanve-Kampala and Kampala-Portbell in Luzira.
