Uganda has registered her third death from Covid 19 as the country’s confirmed cases on Friday rose to 1,154.
The deceased was a 67-year-old man of Nigerian origin who resided in Kisenyi in Kampala.
“He had symptoms consistent to COVID-19 which include; cough, fever, chest pain and difficulty in breathing,” the Ministry of Health revealed in a statement issued Friday evening.
He first sought treatment from a private clinic before he was later transferred to Kiruddu Referral Hospitalwhere he was admitted and his samples taken.
He died on July 29, 2020, according to authorities.
“So far, 15 contacts have been listed,” the statement added.
The Ministry of health also cleared the air on the resident of Namisindwa who died on Wednesday.
“We would like to inform the public that samples were taken from a 27 year old male, a resident of Namisindwa district who collapsed and died on 29th July 2020. Results from the UVRI confirmed that he was negative for Covid 19.”
The Ministry of Health officials further noted that seven new infections had been confirmed from samples tested on July 30.
