“When I had come to the States and I had started earning an income I always dreamed of going back home and investing back in my country and my people, and investing in my self as well. However, I didn’t know how to start and whom to ask or trust with my dreams and vision.
When I asked people here about buying land and investingin real estate and things of the sort, I realized that almost everyone I talked to was just as confused as I was and clueless as well,” Alexandria confesses.
Most of the people she talked to had so many cautionary tales about trusting people back home because of the corruption rate being so high.
She adds: “This left me so discouraged because I was so curious about alot of things not just investment ideas. I wanted to know everything but the information was staggered.
“PASTOR OWORI, WHO IS THE PASTOR AT FIREPLACE CHURCH WHERE I USED TO ATTEND HAD SOME RECORDING EQUIPMENT AT THE CHURCH BECAUSE HE HAD ALWAYS HAD A LOVE FOR VIDEO EDITING …………….THE SHOW DID SO WELL AND I WANT TO THANK HIM SO MUCH FOR GIVING ME THAT FOUNDATION THAT I STARTED ON. THE REST IS HISTORY AS THEY SAY,” ALEXANDRIA SAYS.
My pastor at my church had some recording equipment at our church because he had always had a love for video editing and the likes. So one day we sat down and came up with a crazy idea of having someone in the community share their knowledge on an online show, just to share information back and forth and have people converse between each other in real time,” Alexandria explains how she started her TV career.
With her career strong, Nakato’s Blackbeauty Television is looking to connect Ugandan businesses both at home and abroad and hopes to share resources to those who need it.
Through her own produced Celebrity Buzz and Diaspora On The Rose, Alexandria has been lucky to interview big names such as Bobi Wine, Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, Apass, Winnie Nwagi, Hannington Bugingo, Cindy Sanyu, Irene Ntale, 2Face Idibia, among many others.
