Though fresh on the music scene, many expect her to climb the musical ladders pretty soon and soon, Nina Roz could be history if she doesn’t up her game.
Jowy Landa is a Ugandan recording artist, song writer and vocalist. She rose to fame in 2019 after doing a cover of Obubadi by John Blaq which went viral.
Born Joan Namugerwa on 6 October 2001 in Zana, Kampala, Jowy attended Standard Nursery and Primary School for her nursery and primary school.
After primary, Jowy attended Zana Mixed Secondary School for her O and A Level.
Throughout highschool, Jowy Landa exhibited a unique singing talent. She could sing any song, local or foreign in proper voice and lyrics.
In 2016, she started doing serious covers for popular songs. Her YouTube videos of cover songs started gaining popularity and more people started recognizing her.
In February 2019, Jowy Landa did a cover for John Blaq’s songle title Obubadi. This cover went viral instantly and it pushed Jowy into mainstream music limelight.
In March 2019 following her viral cover, Jowy Landa was signed by Pallaso into Team Good Music / Bango Entertainment. She released her first single titled Saba Saba.
Saba Saba is a love song in which Jowy Landa requests her lover, nicknamed ‘My coco jam’, not to look anywhere else but stay focused on her.
The video has got catchy and amazing dance moves that everyone will desire to add to their dance arsenal.
