BUSINESS IN Ndeeba, Shire zone, came to a standstill when anonymous fire erupted and burnt down properties worth millions.
The fire that started blazing at 11.00 am on a Friday morning last week left one dead.
Lawrence Mpagi, one of those who were in the burnt building that had Royal Inn attached to it, where the woman died from says that he heard peoplefrom all corners running while shouting of how fire has surrounded the place. Adding that without wasting time he called the fire brigade though it came late when most of the properties have burnt to ashes.
He further states that the woman who died had no documents on her or anything representing her. Her body was found in one of the rooms without any wounds which indicated that she could have died of suffocation. Properties that perished in fire involve beddings, bed sheets, mattresses, computers, and retail shops. By press time, her body had been taken to Mulago Referral Hospital for postmortem.
