Capital Radio Limited has dragged former Mayor Al Hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala’s Kiis FM to court, Xclusive UG can reveal.
William Pike and Patrick Quarcoo, the owners of Capital FM and Beat FM, are suing Kiis FM for using the name Kiis which they feel infringes on their property.
In 2011, Capital Radio Limited registered a radiostation under the name Kiss FM.
Now Capital owners feel Kiis FM, though not Kiss FM, sabotages their business dealings and will bring confusion once they hit the market.
A source privy to this case rhetorically asks: “If Capital FM puts Kiss on air and djs start mentioning the names of the stations, would there be confusion or not?” It is around these lines that Capital expects to argue their case. A few months ago, Seya launched Kiis FM at his home in Bugolobi.
