President Yoweri Museveni has today, 8th April, banned outdoor physical exercise as Uganda continues to apply tough measures to disrupt the spread of Coronovirus.

The president also directed boda bodas must stop operations at 2pm.
While addressing the nation, Museveni also revealed that one person has tested positive for the virus.

Museveni announced: “Today, 214 samples were tested for COVID-19 and one person tested positive bringing the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Uganda to 53.”

However the president thanked Ugandans for largely adhering to the

health regulations put in place.
“Lie low for a certain period of time, we will overcome this. The biggest challenge right now is the indiscipline of the people.

I am going to be very harsh with anyone who is playing around because it seems people don’t understand the civilised way of doing things.”

On outdoor exercising, Museveni insisted Ugandans must exercise from home.

“I will post a video working out from home to guide you,” he said.

The president also had tough words for security personnel who have been accused of torturing civilians.

He strongly warned them, asking security bosses to effect tough measures against them.
